Skil 100 parts needed

Fng to the forum . I just picked up a skil 100 for a friend and it needs some parts. The screws to hold the blades in and the adjustment screws. Does anyone know where to source these? Or even a picture and i might be able to reproduce the adjustment ones. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum J_D!

socket head cap screw, threaded part 3/4" long, Looks like 10-24 thread using diameter measurement and a SAE thread gauge

Thanks. Those look easy to replace. Interesting that the adjustments one is not on the schematic. Do people get away without that? It does look like it might provide a safety back up.
Thanks for the reply.

Trying to add a picture but I’m to old-school to figure out how

Got it. Thanks

A parts diagram (and acknowledgement for the snippet above) showing that there is a screw p/n 10641

I’d rather not take mine apart to measure it. Maybe someone else has one with the blades out already or contact members @ShaperSupplyCo or @petec

Get a Shapers Barrel from Shapers Australia. Way better than blades. But otherwise try Pete Casica @ Casica Tech. Sorry I don’t have his email handy.

10641 is the blade adjustment screw (2 ea). These are not standard screws; #8 thread with a #10 head and made by Skil. They not only adjust the blades but are a safety keep the blade from flying out if the retaining screws loosen. Use #97654A104 from McMaster-Carr which will work.
4029 is the blade retaining screw (6 ea). This is high-strength steel due to the high torque needed to tighten, not a plain hex screw. Always replace as a set if any are rusted or old; if they snap when tightened it’s a new cutter head. Get these also from McMaster-Carr #91251A245. Tighten with a socket wrench & ratchet, not an allen wrench.

Thank you. I will get onto McMaster tomorrow

This looks like the good screw from McMaster car.
