Skil 100 question....

Hi guys

I’ve been a long time reader of Swaylocks and am thinking it may be time to ask a few questions and maybe contribute anything i may have picked up upon my ways.

My 1st question involves a Skil 100 planer i bought a few years ago at flea market near Pasadena while on holidays but havent had the chance to put it to use shaping any boards due to my laziness to find out if i need to use some sort of transformer to step down the 240V power in Australia to the 115v of the planer?

Any info that might be using one in Australia or have bit more knowledgable on them would be greatly appriciated

Thanks

Sam

Use a transformer from dick smith. or sell it to me.

hahah yeah thats what i thought but just thought i’d check before i layed out the cash on it. I probably wont sell it seeing i only paid $40usd for it, seems like a much better investment than a chinese knock off of a makita for similar $$'s

I have a makita, used it for 12 years. will do a heap today. small lite and reliable.

yeah i’ve used a makita for years, but had to buy a cheap copy one once to get me through a short time while my other planer was getting repaired, it barely lasted the 3 mals i shaped…
