The above is a link to some photos of a Skip Frye egg that I’ve had a long time. I lucked into it as my first board more than 25 years ago, plucked off the used rack at InFlight in Seal Beach, and it’s been so great I have never needed another board. It’s magical. What do the numbers in pencil mean - ’ P. BE. 320" Any insight from when and where this board might have been made would be wonderful. Thanks.
I now realize that “bird” who responded on that old thread is Huffman. Given the number of boards he’s collected, and his locale, he might be the most knowledgable person around when it comes to boards from the SD area.
The P.BE signifies some time between 1988 and 1990. That is also an original PSG glassing logo from the first few years so this correlates to the same time frame. If it had the SD #320 then it would be more likely 1991. Since it has P.BE it is earlier. Bird may chime in to confirm this.
it hasn’t gotten use in 20 years. It was a socal board that did not get use once I moved north. I have no idea what it’s worth, but I’m in the middle of financial hard times right now and this is the only thing of value I have to sell. But if mocking what you don’t understand makes you feel better, you must be having a great day.
