…groovy

very groovy, thanks for posting the photo.

The funny thing is when you think about it…This women is proably about 60 years old now and could be a grandmother.

Her name was Jamee Becker… (Jamee Becker Guilbert) was highlighted in the 25th swimsuit anniversary issue of SI in an article called “A working mother keeps busy in France” by Jack McCallum, so I guess she’s a Mom or was in 1989 when the article was written.

Looks like that pic was taken at the 1968 World Contest in Puerto Rico. I feel that that contest has to be one of the most memorable. The short board revolution was in its infancy and nobody really knew what would work. You had Reno on his skinny Brewer, Nat on a Weber hull like shape, Cabell on a mini gun, Hemmings on a longer Aipa V bottom, Lynch on an egg sort of shape…Definitely a turning point in surfboard design, probably one like we’ll never see again. Cool pic.

Oh cool to know…

Things that are always intresting to me.

Cheers

Don’t look too close, that could be Cheyne and a proto lazer zap!

Only kidding. In 1968/9? I doubt it.

She’s hot! (That’s past tense: she was hot) I’m sure she’s a gracefull middle aged lady now.

A legend , evidently still going strong !

These , from a ‘google image’ search …
