Has anyone read this magazine? Its an Aussie Rag so I don't know how available it is stateside. I came across a copy at the used book store. Its a refreshing change from the regular ASP fodder and the articles feature almost as many board builders as riders. Full of shaping room porn.
I totally agree roninsurf… stumbled on it at B&N in Oceanside. As good as Longboard Magazine (RIP) IMHO
I like it, and can seldom find it!
hey guys its a "Kiwi made" mag. I have all the isusses since they started in 2002. I think its the best longboard mag out there. they have a website you can order online and they will post world wide.
i like how they not just longboards they look at all kinds of surfing styles and board etcs and they not just full of "Adds"
cheers antony
Hey Gents -
Glad you are digging the SLIDE Magazine vibe. I am the Editor, and I live in Cali. Slide began as a Kiwi longboarding mag, but we changed the format in 2009 to include all types of surf craft and a lot more shapers. We dropped the word Longboarding on the title and now are poised as the world’s preeminent ride-everything pub. Slide sells in 1000 US bookstores, plus select surf shops around the states, also sells in Oz, NZ, Canada, UK, and some Japan. You can keep up at the Slide Magazine page on Facebook, at our website, or feel free to email me at ryan@slidemagazine.com with any questions as to where to find it or if you want to subscribe or just if you want to share a story idea or whatevs.
Keep print alive!
Cheers, Ryan A. Smith
As twisted stump said, Slide is an NZ publication, not Australian. Nice mag and reminds me a little bit of Surfers Journal.
I'd have to put it up there with The Surfer's Journal. I've come upon the magazine at Barne's and Noble's in Hawaii and have never hesitated to pick it up when I've seen them on the rack. A great alternative to the pro/ho rag Surfer/Surfing/Transworld magazines. Often find myself thumbing through them over and over.
nice mag ....always super thick and plenty to read....and all diverse.....not too expensive iether !
Congratulations on your success; it is good to see someone doing well for their effort. That being said, if you are going to live here, you should know, that nobody from here calls California “Cali”…
carry-on…
Thank you, EverySurfer. I take my position and our magazine very seriously. Stoked people are enjoying the SLIDE vibe.
But, your comment about me “going to live here” is a bit misguided. I am a California native, fourth generation twice over, I was born in SoCal, have lived in Socal my entire life. Not many real “Cali” natives exist here anymore, eh…
Cheers, RS
It's California not Cali.
No matter where where you were born. Native or not. SoCal, NorCal....never Cali...never.
You guys wouldnt last long in oz, we shorten every word haha.
