Been looking at a few Olas boards and they might do for a friend who needs a fresh board around 8’. Are they standard decent built? The shapes look ok from my amateur view? durability? cost? Thanks for feedback.

Olas is handled by the guys who sell BOZ wetsuits. I’m 85% sure they are foreign built in the orient, or at one time Brazil. Take that for what it’s worth. Remember cheap boards are usually that…cheap boards. But if your just learning, or intermediate, your not going to know the difference between a good board and a great board.
Side Bar: one of my nephews friends bought a Australia cookie cutter board. I think the name was Darby. Biggest POS I have ever seen. It took 3 weeks and I was replacing fin plugs, and skelator tail areas all compressed. I felt so bad for the kid I made him something that would last aleast a year, and still lightweight.
becareful of what you get on a good deal, there’s a reason for too good of deals.
By the way,
I’m not saying that OLAS isn’t good? I’ve never surfed one, but I’ve seen a few that the SD brazillian guys ride and they seem to throw them around pretty good.
Dont know if there is another Olas surfboards in SD but Las Olas Surfboards is based in San Fran/Santa Cruz and are all hand made (no CNC) at the santa cruz board builders guild.
there is also marc andreini who has the “vaquero de las olas” model boards and they are DEFINITELY made locally
