I’m looking for Scotch 233+ tape in various sizes. Anyone got a lead on an internet source? thx
Howzit Greg. Any real materials supplier should carry 233+, But I don't think you can get it small widths but just buy regular 233 for 1/8 and 1/4 inch widths. You can probably order online. Aloha,Kokua
I just ordered 10 rolls from these guys: http://www.detailersdomain.com/3mmaskingtape.aspx
I’m in NJ and so are they.
Howzit Jamie, I do't know if 3M makes it in 1/8" or 1/4", 3/4" might be the smllest width so the next best thing is regular 233 tape. That was what I used to get my 3M narrow tape from Fiber Glass Hawaii . Aloha,Kokua
I live and work in CHINA
The place where nearly everything for building boards is made.
I can help with selling/finding the materials you need,
BUT
it has to be done in the way the thread started…
as in
Pooling your money to buy in bulk
No one here (china) is going to send you
10 rolls of tape, 2 block planers, 3 vials of tint, 12 fin boxs, 16 deck plugs … for the 50$ they cost,
its just not worth the time and effort
Besides
The shipping outweighs the saving.
When someone does have the money to buy in bulk, more often than not, they get greedy and mark their product up 500%
if you were invested or freinds or contracted with them, you could stop this.
this is an awesome thread!
Great idea.
Having bulk orders sent to a central place and
breaking it out for individual shipment sounds like a job though. If
you wanted to go down that rouad some co-op management software like
this could help: http://sourceforge.net/projects/foodcoop/ screenshots
Maybe keep is simple to start with would be better. If we just
had a categrozed and searchable list that any member could update with
the latest low price or maybe a few prices/suppliers based on area that
would be a big plus. It wouldn’t give everyone the deeper discounts
you’d get
with buying in bulk but it’s easier to update a link than t is to set
up a warehouse for receiving bulk shipment and breaking out dozens of
small orders.
It would be great if this was possbible with
the software running this forum but if not, there are plenty of free
options out there for setting something like this up. I’ll volunteer
getting this set up if Swaylocks can’t support an editable list.

Paul,
You seem to have left out Foam E-Z as far as The Original One-Stop Surfboard Supply Shop, since 1993! Everything you need for your board building experience under one roof. Not to mention you get your supplies when you need them too.
Enjoy the holidays!
Brad
Brad…
Sorry for the omission, but I linked only companies I can personally endorse by direct experience…
All of the suppliers I listed have served me well…

Back to page one with this one. I've got a question that is source related. I'm looking for a source that I can buy foam padding from directly. The padding is of the type that is similar to yoga mats. I've seen alot of shapers use it on their shaping racks but have never asked anyone where they got it. The stuff I have seen is about 1/4--3/8 inch thickness and natural in color, soft but dense. Flexible but doesn't tear as easy as upholstery foam. Good for shaping racks and sanding blocks. I don't know what it is called or referred to.
I think most of the yoga mats are made of EVA foam. They use the same stuff for SUP deck pads. I haven’t ordered any yet but when I do I will probably try this place since it has a good variety of thicknesses and colors: http://www.foamorder.com/closedcell.html. I’ve had no experience with this company though so I can’t say how they are. If you google EVA foam sheets, there is a ton of possibilities. Hope this helps.

The next time you think about it lay a piece of 6oz S next to a piece of 6oz E. Look carefully you'll see the differance.
Here we go again! I did a search but didn't come up with much. I'd like to know of a supplier that stocks basswood in lengths and widths long and wide enough to stringer blanks in 1/8" or 1/4" thick. Found lots of basswood on the internet but mostly short lengths. I am also looking for PVC sheets in lengths up to 8'. Thanks
rtnc---------------Thanks so much for linking me to that site. I think that will not only solve the PVC stringer problem, but also helped me with another need. Lowel
