they have them at mitches, a local all stop surfshop (think a b&m [brick n mortar] store foam ez combined with a surfshop). They had several blanks sitting out, the van open and everything, and the angle was that the store people couldn’t see if anyone choose the 5 finger option unless they stepped around outside, and went around the corner.
I told them about, the guys said thanks . . . but he didn’t move on it, until 20 mins later when was walking out, but all he did was empty the van and lock it, leaving the blanks neatly stacked outside. I noticed the reject pile was full . . .
but I’m going try them out once I’m done gathering tools for shaping
I picked up one short blank from a local distributor and cut the outline. No evidence of any irregularities so far but that’s one blank. The guy at the place I bought it said if there were any problems, bring it back.
I saw some of the first blanks they sent, they definitely had some problems. Some real soft blanks, kind of weird rockers, uneven stringer cuts etc. I have had the opportunity to shape some of their nice ones and I am very impressed with the finished product. A very fine cell structure finishes and feels like a Clark blue blank, maybe a little tighter. Airbrushers will love it. Has a very white look to it easy to read in the shaping room. Very consistent density, could be a little heavier for my liking, good short board weight. They are trying very hard to improve their blanks. The blanks I have seen are good shapers blanks with extra foam to work with. If anyone is interested I can get blanks, pickup San Diego area.
