hi name’s Wilhelm and im a surf addict since 8, im from trinidad and im going to school at the university of miami. i really want to learn to shape but i live in the dorms and dont have any room to do that! so im looking for someone to show me the ropes till i get my own place to practice.
i live up in Boca, and i’ve got some friends at UM. while i doubt they’d let me hack out a board for you in the living room of their apartment, i’d be happy to cut a board with you any time. unfortunately, my schedule is a little hectic at the moment, and it looks like i won’t be able to start on my next board until january (or maybe even the very beginning of february). anyhow, feel free to be in touch…i’ll be sure and let you know when i’m ready to start my next project. also, what kind of boards are you interested in making?? hope your exams are going well. party starts wednesday, right?!
hey thanks man, im interested in ALL boards, i ride shortboards only right now but i learned on my dad’s big guns and longboards, and i love to pull out a funboard when the waves get really small. and yeah im really looking forward to wednesday when exams are done! keep in touch cause i would really like to see someone shape a board. Realisticaly i probably wont be able to start my own till next summer when i go back home and have time and space but between now and then im trying to absorb as much information as i can.

yeah i actually have heard of oak hill, my old next door neighbors daughter lived over there. they have a big runway and have fly ins like every october. i have actually flown above the beach there quite a few times. if you ever ant to get together for a surf let me know

Hey whats up. Backyard (garage) shaper here in South FL, Pompano beach. I got a garage (small!) that I shape in. However, glassing is always a hoot, no air condtioner. Think I might outsource this next glass job, the temp in my garage right now is 89. think it would be cool to hook up with other backyard shapers. Started shaping my 3rd board yesterday and stil have another blank sitting in the corner. My first 2 came out pretty good, they ride real good (after I got rid of the fin hum on my first board). My first 2 were a 6’6" tri fin, pin tail and 6"4" tri fin squash. Where do you guys get your supplies from. Been getting mine from glue products plus in West palm. Any other South FL shapers out there?
i know theres more of us out there. we should get together some time near christmas. for our very own east coast s.a.
i havent thought of any exact days, but i imagine that a weekend would be best.

I dont know of any local local places, but it would be cool to purchase some boxes from fiberglass supply or something and split shipping to cut down on costs.

trash my backyard with eps beads.
best shipping comes from Foam-EZ…flat $90 for up to 2 boxes of blanks.
