Speed fins removal

Never seen this box system before. A friend of mine is taking some boards to Ecuador. he has one with “speed fins” and can not figure out how to get em out. I say get out the rubber mallet. Anybody know how to remove em. Anybody interested in my Ecuador surf team can check it out here. Thanks ACE

Thank God for WD40. Put wifes foot on board and YANK with way more force than you would want to. POP up they go. SCARY!!!

I think I still have a set of those fins and boxes laying around somewhere… if you happen to break one.
