Speedkote - good or bad?

Am working (very slowly!) on my first board, haven’t yet glassed it, but was thinking about the finish (might be a bit premature…)

Am not going to gloss coat it, as don’t have an electric polisher, and want to keep the weight down a bit, but what about sanded hotcoat vs speedkote?

Its a 7’3" minimal design by the way

Thanks.

Chris

The good news: An acrylic finish will save time since you only need to sand to 220, apply it and you’re done. It will also seal the sanded finish from absorbing stains. The bad news: It wears off and you’ll need to keep applying it.

I have never used Speedkote but have found my boards have lasted well with a sanded hotcoat.
