I know that surftec was working with one that had shocks in the middle of the board, has that board even came to market yet, and is there a way that you can make the split tail the other way with a cut up the stringer and make it a quad
Tinkler/flex tails have been around for over 20 years, in surfing and windsurfing boards.
Need tuning of flex to handle differences in wave sizing and speed, so lotsa adjusting.
Cutting out the stringer does work somewhat, but the gloss coat starts delaminating with stress fractures that unseal the glass that allows water inthrough the glass turning the blank brown causing further delamination to destruction of board.
Instead of flexing the board, some shapers decided that maybe the water allows the rider to SINK the tail, then boardspeed reflex’s the tail up to the surface, making a natural flextail surfboard !!
Some accomplished riders bend and extend their legs thru their turns getting spring and rebound from their body movements.
Hahahaha! LeeDD - No wonder I have a loving memory of you for which I couldn’t remember why… Classic!
Let the games resume!
Did someone say “Split tails”?
glass up with poly and hot coat with epoxy resin to make the hot coat more flexie and not britle like poly later
Might want to focus on the lam instead of the hotcoat if flex is your main concern.
