ok…i just wrote this long thing about my first glassing and i hit the wrong button and its all gone…aaarrrgggh…but just thought id share something i tried today when doing a double layer of cloth with epoxy…did the flats and was going to wet out the laps and realized i dont have a brush to use so i figure out why not try a spounge, kitchen type-small spounges…and it works great doing the rails and laps as it wets out the cloth and i end up just lightly dabbing my way around the board finding the cloth smoothly lapping around…cut off the long strands and im now a happy camper…i think its good to find some of your own methods on things as it might help on your confidence level…and with epoxy you got alot of time so no freaking out…thought id share the spounge-experience and maybe some of you will try it…it might even be a widely known method what do i know?..ok thanks for your time swaylockers
Awesome!!! I’ll give that a try next time. Do you get less strands than using a brush?
I use 3" plastic dry wall knife you get from the hardware stores… cheap 62 cents.
hey ghostcount…i cant really say about the strands, its my first board so…but i just flipped it and the laps looked much cleaner than the first one i did and that was done with a small squeege…i guess the spounge is much much more kind to the cloth…im sticking to it…try it out
