I searched the older posts and the thread linked below is all I found,
but I wondered if there were any other input on using spray adhesive to set up lams and do laps–I would like the margin for error when doing this thing that I’ve never done and won’t be doing a huge lot of (I say that now…)

Also I wondered if anyone had any thoughts about sealing EPS blanks with some spray-on clearcoat or something like that. I think (reliable) spray-on finishes seem like they would be great to use in the encapsulation process.

Interesting idea, but on the laps I think you would end up with some dry laps. I think you’ll have trouble moving resin from the deck to the bottom to cover the under lap. As messy as that whole process is, it allows the lap to get saturated.
As for the spray sealer, I kinda like not spraying stuff in the air. If you tell Doug, I’ll deny it, but I’m fine with the whole spackle thing. I’m building a couple of SUPs and will probably use an epoxy/micro ballon mix with some light color per Uncle D.
Unless you spray so much onto it that you allow the paint to pool, it will not get into the small cracks and crevices all that well. This was discussed on swaylocks before, but I was not able to figure out how to dig it up for you using the search function for you.
EDIT: I think I found it! http://www.swaylocks.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=240704;search_string=paint;#240704
