Spray Paint on Micro Balloon/Resin Filler?

I need help, once again form the Swaylock’s team of experts…I just finished filling a delam with micro balloon/resin mixture and now need to match the paint job, as close as possible, before I glass. The question is, do I still need to stick with a water based paint as I would with foam…or could I use just an over the counter spray paint, found at my local automotive store? Thanks again… -John

I use water based paint for all my work, but as long as the color matches I don’t think it matters if it is a spray can or not

Poly resin/painting rules are:1)if you coat over the paint with resin ,keep it water based paints. 2)if it’s on top w/o re-coating over, you can use anything that will stick well to your surface, not scratch off or wash off easily.Herb

We use clear acrylic from a can to set some airbrush work, just don’t use any alcohol or oil based paints under resin.
