Im making my first board and wanted to add colour/ opaque finish to the board. im using a uv cure resin which cant be mixed with pigment, ive heard of spraying the foam before the board is glassed.. does anyone know particular paints which are preferable or if you can just use a cheap, quick dry spray can from the hardware ???
yo dude,
acrylic only! if you can get hold of a cheap airbrush you can spray it on pretty easily. All ive heard is stay away from spray paints i think anything oil based will bleed or cause cure problems with the resin (its made from petroleum)
yepper acrylic only, . if you buy hardware store paint get flat and keep the millage as thin as possible. paint your blank with too much millage (thick)? you can get crystalization for a lack of better words. I think??? the resin shrinks and cant grip the blank and kinda skids on the slick paint surface. Well it leaves this diamond looking effect on the laminate within 1.5 hours or so after laminating. maybe backwards but i get best results from painting the lighter colors first then highlight the darker ones. "watch the lam kick and ahhhh, come back later and )(*&%^%^&%$. good luck
