During a recent swell a few weeks ago, I was checking out the Maverick's surf cam on Surfline. There were about 8-10 guys out getting some pretty size-able waves. Then I noticed a SUP roaming around a little inside and off the shoulder. He finally managed to pick off a wave that came in wide of the take-off zone. I couldn't help wondering what folks out there were saying to the guy. For all I know, he may be a locally respected "waterman". I guess it's just a case of somebody always wants to be the first to do it.
