Stepdeck - "oceanside spoiler" Longboards

I just need some help with design clarification.

I realize that the spoiler design has gone in many places (Cats etc) - in the traditional design does anyone know if there was a bottom concave incorporated in the nose with the deckside step?

Also I have heard these origional boards were all made with double stringers 4" apart - the only advantage I see to this is to give the deck "scoop" a bit of needed strength as it reaches the thinnest area in the nose.

Does anyone have experience with these boards to be able to help out? Also wondering if the rail channels that would go where modern sidebites would be were also used on these first models and what the railshape in the tail area is.

Thanks!

I've seen slight concaves on steps before. Seems that the norm is generally without them though-just one mans' experience.

Talk to Bob'O though. He's a master of foiled thin noses and tails. He'll tell you what's up...

Not sure what you mean by spoiler “design”. Spoiler was a specific model by Oceanside, and there might have been other brands who also used that name for a particular model. Are you actually talking about stepdecks in general?

Yes the oceanside design in particular. Found out there is no nose concave but I am still curious about the rail shape in the tail. Anyone have one of these?
