stiff 6 oz cloth

I need hep with this one, I have some 100 Metre Rolls of 6 oz cloth that is to stiff (heat treaded ) Has anyone have an idea how to soften it. I have tryied steam but did nothing. Herb (godfather)sent you a email on this, but you may have changed you email address Thanks Rabbit

Herb (godfather)sent you a email on > this, but you may have changed you email address Thanks Rabbit Way back when, I had some Clark-Schwebel 7.5 oz. that was so stiff, how stiff was it? it was so stiff that the laps, even in the middle of the board would spring back off. The only way was to baby sit the board until it kicked, or cut the cloth to length, put it in a plastic sleeve and, I’m not fibbing, beat it with a base ball bat. I’m sure it defeated the strength of the cloth, but softened it enough to wrap the rails. I also had some DSY 4 0z. that was so stiff it wouldn’t lap, so I used it for the under layment only.

Is that the Germany areotech glass? Stiff isn’t the word to describe it.Try iron weave.I use to heat mine up with a dryer.I’m sure that’s not any better.It works great for fin sheets though.Herb
