Rodstoker’s booth at the last Boardroom surf expo, with Scott Anderson, Kirk Putnam, Brian Hilbers, and Marc Andreini.
??
Those “Stoker V-Machine” stickers say “Shaped by Scott Anderson”.
I thought Bruce Fowler designed and shapes the Stoker V-Machine’s… maybe he’s licensed his designs out to be shaped by this “Anderson Surfboards” mob?
Care to comment DEADSHAPER?
Fowler was shaping the Stoker V Machines, but there was some kind of business disagreement, and now shapes under his own label.
I headed out to the car with Pete C and his son to grab something and as we walked out a guy was leaving with a “Stoker” under his arm that he had just purchased inside at the booth mentioned above. I asked him if Bruce was around at the Show? He gave me a blank look and had no idea who Bruce Fowler was. When I went back inside I went over and visited the Booth. Realized that there had been some kind of shake up. Lowel
I thought the Vee Machine part of SVM was in reference to a specific design involving a pointed nose, wide tail block, flat bottom+vee + high tail rocker.
The guy in the photo is Stoker. See the smile, it’s trademarked
He’s moved on.
A lot of reputable, and some underground shapers have built Randall’s models for him in the past, and in the present. Not many of those people contribute on the net.
Saw many by Wayne Rich in the past that a lot of time went into them. A few other’s from the Goleta underground. Surfed the last swell at Malibu with Randy and his buddy’s. Everything seems back to normal as it stands.
Bruce explained it all when he starting making boards without the Stoker label. Look in the Surfshop discussion area.
Yes I do remember the whole story and history Bruce posted. Lowel
Fair enough.
