stringer visible under rice paper logo

Hi.

I’ve beed printing my logos on satandard rice paper since I started shaping boards. Even with the color of the logo the stringer is still visible

What can I do to make the stringer invisible under the logo.

Any advice would be really appreciated

Brian

You are not going to be able to achieve it using your computer to print lams, silk screened lables are printed over white where opaque is required

Silkscreen is the best way to go… but I get pretty good results from my hp jetink printer…I use Japanese Sketch Paper(print on smooth side) instead of standard rice paper… makes nice cripy looking logos. If I do one with a white back round I use the standard ricepaper and spray two light even coats of white paint on one side, then print the logo on the unpainted side… works for me…

Howzit Shipman, I do the same thing except I spray the white on after I print the logo. Also I use just acrylic paint thinner ( no water ) to thin the white paint. The first time I used some water in the thinning and it screwed up the paper. Aloha,Kokua

Hey Kokua.

What you and Shipman are sayaing is …

Spray the rice paper with white acrylic paint before (or after in your case) sending it into the printer. I can see how this would work. I think I’ll buy a can of white acrylic paint from the auto shop and try it both ways.

Whats silkscreen and Japaneese sketch paper.

Thanks Kokua

Just a thought: If you are going to the hassle of spraying the back of the laminate white etc…, why not just stick down a white card of your laminate shape, spray you design, peel it off and then laminate you printed decal on the board as normal?

The colours will also be brighter because some of your spray might still show through using the other method and spraying dark colours.
