I would like to help you, but don’t know where to begin. The shape is so far removed from anything I have ever surfed. To be frank, it looks like a dog to me, but that’s just speculation. You might rip on it.
Looks very much like some of the early twin fins, circa 1970. For small waves, It will get the job done. You’ll have fun, and learn something along the way.
I personally can’t see why that wouldn’t be a fast, capable small wave board. Strange looking, but with such a flat rocker and wide shape it seems like it will definitely go somehwere. Might not be the best for quick turns or something, but just go for it. If it dosn’t perform, there’s your excuse to make another board.
I shaped a diamond tail stubby small wave board recently. Except I’ve got the wide point just behind center, more tail rocker, and it’s a tad skinnier. It’s been working well. Mine’s like 17" wide 1’ from the tail, but the tail is pretty wide itself. Also it’s much shorter. It’s like halfway between a bar of soap and a small wave performance shotboard thing.
thank you for your response guys, i see the real stubby on the.
the aku template is just for give an idea.i did not hit the rail on the aku template.
so, with more lift, it can be better maybe?
I definitely like that board - nice gentle curve relaxed rocker, no big flat spot with a nose flip. More curve in the template as well, looks like a narrower tail in the photo than the drawing.
