I’ve now printed out a board I quickly designed in BoardCAD using my Canon ip7220. The outline is pretty much perfect.
What I enjoyed about this process is that I could just line all the pages up along a board’s edge, then only occasional minor
corrections to the edge, then just tape them together. I then check with my tape measure that the width was correct at
each spot along the printout. It’s perfect. So now it’s a much faster process than using my old paper-cutter approach.
Now it would be great to do this “T-shirt” style with some sort of ink transfer method. So here are some pics - the 36"
gridline is exactly 36" from the edge. I guess it really works. I don’t yet know why the right side of each page is missing
a tiny bit of ink but I don’t think I need to worry about his as the board’s pieces line up perfectly.
I like this improvement in efficiency just for the sake of a $90.00 printer. It’s nice to have lined-up pages - without
a struggle.
I also like the fact that when I fold my outline/profile up, they won’t have that “funny” shape folded-up like my paper-cut ones
since with the old way they get staggered. These can just be folded up and stacked in a folder or on a desk or put into a notebook.
