Stupid question about hulls

IMHO hulls are about maximum effciency. And its not really a stupid question. I have always been a ride anything type of surfer, ever since I was little. Some people are gonna tell you that hulls are the best and these people are fanatics. They’re not wrong they’ve just had a bit of the Kool aid. Hulls are so rad and I consider them a desert island shape = as in if i were trapped on one and could only have one shape. I’d more than likely have a 7 or 8 foot hull for perfect days, long arcing turns. Hulls are convex through the bottom of the board - think the hull of a ship!! The outline of the board follows the shape of an “S” and they ride down in the drink a bit instead of on top of the surface of the water. Hulls are “with the wave” - you park yourself on the deck and maybe move around a bit for accelerating and decelerating but you really dont have to work the board too much to help it find a line - thats vague but in my opionion a good bit different from working a 6’3" thruster to find speed. It’s a flavor. The better you get at knowing your hull, your waves, your body english et cetra the faster you can go, the more radical you can whip yourself through turns or carves or sections. Most importantly though hulls are a ton of fun.  https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/v/t34.0-12/1061614_10201949554883377_748728105_n.jpg?oh=7ebada3232456bea3f2031b0114982d3&oe=532CE7C8

It ain’t Kool Aid, it’s life juice. Just the way Mr. A. describes how this shape surfs is the way I want to ride. I don’t care for the snap turns and rock 'n roll stuff although I admire the athleticism. Nothing better than pushing HARD on a drawn out turn to get to the high line and fly. There are those that I respect highly that call BS. on the hull shape and flex fin. All I know is, it suits my view and style of surfing.  They were the first boards I’d ever seen made and have “imprinted” on them since. A good glider and a few hulls and I’m set. I can’t ride potato chips.
