Hi, I have some left over filler, can I thin it down with styrene to use as my last coat, what sort of percentage do I put in or if I had a litre, how many mills would I add?
Surfrib, search for ‘Kokua gloss recipe’. He was known for it and his positive attitude on Sway’s. Rest in peace MW.
Thanks for that, I saw the answer to my question, kokua answerd soneone elses similar quedtion and I gather no more than 10 percent of styrene can be added to filler? I will go out to the garage and experiment?
…if you are in a a colder + humidity climate, that add will be worst; the resin will remains tacky…
The only thing you need is warm a bit the resin (and the sustrate) to flow a bit more.
Adding styrene does not transform the lamination resin in gloss resin; still you do not have the flatten agents, etc there.
If you add more styrene in reality you are having LESS wax…think about it. I did all these test 30 years ago in the worst weather conditions, believe me; if not; do the test.
