suction cup leash plug question

I have a Cooperfish, I love it, but with summer crowds & rocky shores in New England, I have to face the ugly reality of leash use.

I remember seeing an ad for some kind of suction cup leash plug thingy. Anyone know who they are? I’ve been calling local shops to no avail.

Gene to his credit doesnt install plugs or loops, and I wont ever drill one into his gorgous glassing (mine’s clear & still killer).

Thanks folks,

John

Here’s what Gene recommends:

Word is, they stick great.

i have one on one of my longboards and i love it…get the one from SurfCo Hawaii…it’s nice and clear and there’s no way that thing is coming off short of scraping it clean with a razor blade. O’fish’l also makes one, but i haven’t heard good things about it…the SurfCo Hawaii one is solid.

I’m no authority on this as I still drill holes in my boards and install plugs :frowning: but as suggested above, I’ve heard that the EZ-Plug is the go… there is another that may be a little more accessable for you from O’Fishl as you can get them from the supplier in Australia, but I’ve not heard good news on the O’Fishl stick on leash plug.

I just looked up the website for EZ-Plug - NZ distributer is as follows:

just wondering why sticking on a plug is less offensive then drilling one in???

ps… my “cool” no leash wearing buddie, just lost a beautiful 3 stringer LB out to sea…

sorry to hear about your loss, really.

I’m not trying to be “cool”, I have no choice, coopers have no plugs, hence my posting (this is a brand new stick).

drilling is more involved, plus I run the risk of a leaky installation.

where did this tragedy happen?

he lost it last week on the south shore of oahu, just off Aina Hana. we were at a party on friday and it is funny how many people who surf with out leashs have lost or almost lost boards… it has almost happened to me twice, both times on small days… one of them required a blind swim out to sea in almost pitchblack…

i am just saying that if a stick on plug works so well that you can’t remove it you now have a nice board with a stuck on plug… but of course it dosn’t matter in the least…

well, that’s because it’s clear, and doesn’t destroy the nice clean deck of your board.

the SurfCo Hawaii stick-on plug will hold through just about anything…but should the time come when you want to remove it for whatever reason, all you need to do is scrape it off with a razor blade. and then, you still have a solid, clean deck without holes dug out in it. are you really having so much difficulty grasping this concept??
