Sud Express

Sometimes, it happen.

It’s pure stoke.

You come to meet people in real life because you just chatted a bit on the net.

I talked to a portuguese bloke the last few month… and I met an Elefante two and a half week ago.

As we talked, we decided to set up a Sud Express project: I’d shape some blanks at home, in Bordeaux, France and bring them with me in Portugal for the holidays.

On the way out, I’d let the blanks and only 12 days later, on the way back, I’d get some boards…

That is what happened.

Let’s make the long story short: pictures.

OK, Lob, now you can tell us: what horrible mistakes did you intend to hide under this opaque grey?

Kidding. Nice boards. How do they work?

BOARDPORN!!

Lob, keep 'em coming!

So this guy in Portugal made the fins and did thte tints?

What a cool project.

Beautiful shapes and equally beautiful finishes on the boards.

Thanks for the photos.

Not the fins, at least those on the fish: they are John CHERRY’s .

…good work, man…good work…

The fact is I ordered five pairs of wood keels to John Cherry (two fishes have been shaped and have JC keels - killer - I’ll post them after I’ve taken pictures) and John sent me an extra set as a gift: those multi layered double foiled.

The mail exchange with John was really nice and he seems to be a good person as far as I can see (from France to California I just can believe what I’ve read and recieved - cool and serious person to me).

I did not really need a new fish as mine is still in good condition…

But I managed to put my hands firmly on a clark and got those keels ready to use…

So I decided a chocolate fish cookie would be nice.
