graeme king of king foam has been trialling it.

The Paulownia plantation at Tyalgum (NSW north coast) has timber thicker than 5/8’'.

I recently bought some 1 1/2’’ (38mm rough sawn then 35mm after thicknessing).

Width 6’’ (150mm)

Length 4 metres.

Weight 5kgs.

The thickest in stock was 2’'.

yeah, i have contacted ice 9 but no one seems to be importing it yet and i dont really want to order a whole container load at this stage! and it would be great if we had a local manufacturer to support as well.

the 5ft paulownia blanks we have are only 5/8 inches thick. if you want to glue up your own then John in Tyalgum should be able to help you out with some thicker stock.

I bought my paulownia from Tyalgum and have two boards I am presently working on. Down the track I’m sure I will be keen to try another.

Hi Bob, We now have 19mm thick laminated alaia blanks from 4-8ft upt to 25 inches wide.

Hello Grant,

I’ll drop you a line when the need arises. It won’t be for some time though as I have been crook and still have an almost finished board and a half-finished board awaiting attention. I hope to have one ready for a trip down to the most easterely coast in a week’s time.
