Summer Projects

Hey, this is a long time coming, but I’ve finished 2 boards this summer. The first was a 8’9’’ longboard and the second was a 5’6’’ shortboard meant for surfing behind a boat. First, I’d just like to thank you guys and gals here for all the advice.

The longboard is my favorite and works the best. I had some problems shaping the outline, but luckly I had some extra foam to work with so I was able to improve it a little. It was also the first time I installed finboxes or did resin swirls. I was nervous about the finboxes, but they came out pretty well. They are raised up more than I would like, but I can’t complain. The resin swirls were wicked fun to do. I am excited to get out and experiment with them more. Anyways here are the pics of the build:

The 5’6’’ wakesurfboard was a fun build, but I put way to much rocker on it, so when I tried to ride it I ended up just pushing the water and slowing myself down. I wanted to try my hands at making a swallow tail, which def. was difficult. I’m probably going to hold off on trying to do another one until I’ve practiced enough on scrap foam. Between getting it shaped smoothly and evenly and glassing it, it proved to be the hardest part of the build.Now for the pictures;
