where can I find .brd / .brdx of a SUP board that is suitable for beginner (volume apprx 250L)? Is there any way I can open .s3dx file on boardCAD to convert it to .stl file?
Welcome to the forum.
Shape3D has its Warehouse, Akushaper has some files available for download.
There is no direct way to bring Shape3D *.s3dx into BoardCAD LE that I am aware of.
My understanding is the ‘x’ version of an Aku file is locked.
You could locate an available SUP *.brd file and bring it into BoardCAD LE and scale/manipulate the design into more of what you want and then output STL.
Do you have a manufacturing process in mind where STL files work best?
Another way is to go through the learning curve and become a BoardCAD user and design something that you really like. BoardCAD has great export capabilities for DIY board making.
You could also purchase a subscription to Shape3D or Aku for a month or two at a high enough level to get import/export capabilities that match what you want to do downstream.
I paid Thomas Vilmin at Shape3D to convert .s3dx files to STL files and STL files to .s3dx files.
Thomas would be a good resource for this project, both for design and file conversion.
