Talking to a very enthusiastic swimmer-lady the other day, who wants to try a SUP. Although I did mention that I made a few boards, I didn’t offer anything about making a SUP.
So, I got to thinking… You can see where this is going, and there’s gonna be trouble.
What is the consensus opinion for a SUP for a woman who is in excellent swimming condition, surfs occasionally in Town, and probably weighs 145 lbs?
Let’s spec the length, width, thickness, (EPS would seem to be required for weight considerations), foam density, and glassing schedule top and bottom.
CarveNalu and Manoa in particular, what’s it going to take to float her boat? Maybe Bambam808 will chime in for an epoxy glass job when/if the spec is settled.
Hmm, I should see if she can stand/paddle on my 10-3 tandem…
My buck 30 average ability surfing fiancee’s standup is a 25" wide 3.75 thick 11’ munoz surftech. Bump the thickness to 4 and the width to 27 and she wont have any trouble at all on it…
Rode by your garage about 3 weeks back… see another rockered EPS(?) in the garage. Almost knocked on the door but had places to do, things to go. Hope to come by some weekend, may take you up on the blank.
Guys up the street have a very large Clark in the garage, just sitting there for the longest time. I gotta find 'em and ask about it.
