Recently repaired a SUP (Forklift went through the deck). In order to effectively do the repair had to remove the deck padding, problem is it was custom cut deck pad. My thoughts on fixing the issue are either cutting a factory pad to the shape currently. wonder if anyone has any creative solutions. The pad itself runs full length and is not segmented.
I would do a replacement piece, rail to rail, contrasting color instead of trying to blend in a smaller piece that may or may not match.

Those EVA deck pads seem way more expensive than they should be
This is where I get my pads. They come in a rectangular roll and you trim them to fit.
