always trying to reduce the lingering smell of resin and keep my small space as clean as possible.
I know these are rocket science haha but they seem to work well.
I extended mine 16" past the front and back of the rack - 10" wide and a 6" back section.
Drop in some painters plastic and it makes a big trash bag. Just wrap it up when your all done or move the bag outside between steps to cure in the open air.
Mike - not at all. The catch bag sits about 14" below the bottom of the board and only sticks out about 3 inches past the rail width - it catches all the “waterfall” run off and drips durring the lam process and anything that drips durring the hotcoat.
I’ll post a photo of a blank on the racks in the morning.
Yes those will work. I have made similar in the past. Especially handy with UV resin; The run off of which can be made to drain into a bucket, strained and reused. PVC frame and plastic. Punch a pencil sized hole in the plastic and place a bucket below.
I’ve never collected and resumed the resin ( I don’t do much with just straight uv - usually always add at least a splash of hardener) but I do collect excess resin in a bucket filled with water. It cures in the water, doesn’t get hot and kills the smell.
I’ll have to take a stab at collecting solid uv clear and see how clean it is.
And the resin that comes off seems to be pretty clean. Would be great for ding repair! (or possibly used with pigment) Once your done just snip a hole and stick a bucket under it.
When I was done I just rolled it all up and stuck it out side and the resin still gets uv rays through the clear plastic.
