Surf Expo

Is anyone planning on attending the Jan Surf Expo in Orlando? Or has anyone attended in the past? I plan on going as a seller and have never been. If you have any useful tips or pointers of thing to bring or do that would help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks for any help you can give me, Daniel

I plan on going (as long as my buddy can get me in). I have been several times in the past and there is usually a good turn out. It seems to be a good place to network, then party afterwards. I try to go early on friday to see all the boards before they are picked through. Then I go back late sunday to buy some products (fins, etc.) at a good price. The reps are usually always more than willing to sell samples rather than pack them up and ship them back. What booth will you be at? I will come by and say hello.

Not sure on the booth yet I will keep you posted. Just look for the Bamboo surfboards, should be the only one there with them. Can you sell there? The lady I talked to said you can only place orders. In the past when you bought things from the expo did they use credit card machine, or cash etc…? Thanks for the info, and stop by the booth. Later, Daniel

I always went with my friend who owned a skate park and he had established accounts. It was basically a bunch of order taking on the part of the reps. The selling of product is kind of low key, but I know for a fact that guys sell boards out of there. Walk by the Lost booth for instance on friday and you will start to see boards with people/company names on them. Come back on Sunday afternoon and they will be gone. It makes sense the product has served its purpose as a display, why box it up and ship it back when you can just sell it? All of this is just based on my casual experience from several years there, don’t take it as anything more.
