I recently picked up Gerry Lopez’s book SURF IS WHERE YOU FIND IT, at the most recent Sacred Craft show in San Diego. The book is a cool compilation of short stories about Gerry’s life. Through the stories you get a cool perspective about the evolution of surfboards at that time, especially the evolution of shortboards at pipeline. It goes into Gerry’s many adventures in surfing, and pioneering surf spots throughout Hawaii. The book also speaks about some of the environmental changes that have happened in Hawaii, and how that has affected the way certain breaks work. All in all Gerry did a great job and I would recommend it to any one. The book will definitely inspire you to get out and shred!!
