I think it was sometime in the early eighties, but I’m not sure. What I remember is David Nuuhiwa on a fish, on a crowded wave. He was surfing pretty fast and weaving around everyone else on the wave. It looked like it might have been in Hawaii. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t wearing a wetsuit. I know it’s kind of vague, but does this sound familiar to anybody? Does anybody remember the name of this movie?

There was a film by Dale Davis called “Liquid Space” circa. 1973 that had a lot of sequences of David riding what looked like Brewers and fishes.

“Waves of Change” had a nifty section of David and Nat at Lahaina, but it was pre-fish days. Still a memorable segment of what having fun in the water was all about though.
it was seventies movie about 74’ his low wide stance works on short fish basically same effect leverage as kneeboarder sitting on tail and putting both hands on deck(spreading the load) was always the driving lis style–it works!
Might be “Five Summer Stories”, which I recall had plenty of David footage…which mutation I do not know, as there were plent of them.
For some reason I’m thinking it was “Going Surfing”. Has anyone seen it lately? Does anybody know where I can get a copy?

Or how about the remake of “Gun Ho” starring Snoop Dog, Puffy Combs and a cast of amateur college girl groupies? This was filmed at the Turtle Bay Hilton during the epic North Shore swell of January 13-15th 2004?
We could also add “Specific Vibrations” which is an expose of fin hum as revealed in past Swaylocks discussion threads…
I believe it was “Five Slummer Stories” that they are filming on the North Shore at this time. But then I could be wrong.
