Greetings from Switzerland! I was hoping someone could recommend a good surf school somewhere in Europe (maybe Portugal, Spain, or France??). I have a couple seasons experience on the Jersey shore, but will be traveling with some first-timers. We were thinking September, but it is still up in the air… any suggestions greatly appreciated.

This is for France, specifically the St Jean de Luz, Guéthary, Bidart area. Christophe REINHARDT is in charge of the school in Guéthary and I strongly recommend him. He is a true waterman and will take beginners out into “easy” beachbreaks but if you ask him he may also lead you to some really big waves. Nice guy, too. If you get in touch with him, tell him Guilhem sent you.
There are some surf schools in Peniche Portugal its a good place to learn how to surf!
