The Crew at Surfblanks

Hey I am glad that you guys are hanging in there. I talked with you briefly last summer while I was in calif. via phone and email. I have used Midgets’ blanks here on Maui. Actually I am probably the only guy that went to the effort to get his blanks. They came over by barge after I ordered them thru some guy on Oahu. I am relocating to the Mainland in the spring. Assuming the formula is at least the same or even better for hand shaping I would like very much to talk with you. A friend of mine has been getting “Surfblanks” from Matt in Pacifica. Are you doing anything with him? PM me and I will give you my cell #. I really liked Midgets Blanks. Lowel “Little Hawaii Surf Designs”

McDing,

Yes we are using the same formula as Midget’s and the blanks are glassing very light, not soaking resin and no cheater coats. We have been shiiping directly to Hawaii and we hope in the future to have a warehouse there. We just shipped a truck load to Ambrose last week. If there’s anything you need plase let us know.

Aloha McDing:

Surfblanks has been shipping some blanks to me here on Kauai and I can tell you that they are just as good as the blanks direct from Midget. I also got a container load from the guys on Oahu when they had the blanks so I have been able to compare the two and there is no difference in the foam quality.

I’m really stoked on the quality of the blanks from the Surfblanks America and can’t wait for them to get something setup here in Hawaii for blank distribution.

Best quality foam I’ve used in over 40 years of shaping!

Hey Robin! That’s good to know. Out of the 15 or so that I got from Midget I shaped a couple of longboards for myself and have been very happy with their durability, weight etc. Everybody liked the “T-Band” stringer. More effort to shape, but I learned to power sand. My glasser(who uses a cheater goat on the lam) commented that they came out lighter. A friend of mine has been getting the Surfblanks Aus. from and milled by Matt in Pacifica Calif. It seems they lend themselves to machine shaping.

Hi McDing,

For handshaping we suggest the green formula from the 5’8"s to the 7’0"s (including the fish blanks). From 7’4"s up we suggest the blue formula especially in the eggs and longboards. Thanks.
