Anyone know if I can use a laser printer to print on polyester surfboard decor tissue? Or will only an inkjet printer work?
It depends on the type of ink.
Best to try it on a test panel first.
Reading through the threads linked there are mixed reviews, but several people had good experiences, so it is a viable option. Like you say, try it and see.
Can’t remember which; but one or the other fades to nothing(ie invisible) after a relatively short period of time.
I use a laser printer for mine, printed on rice paper. I only print in black, any colors I hand paint with water based paint on the back of the lam. It won’t automatically bleed BUT I also am very gentle laminating that area so as to avoid smudging anything, and I try to get that area laid in one pass, with not a lot of going back over it with the squeegee. I have not had trouble, but one board I took to a glasser and didn’t warn did have a bit of a smudginess shadow from squeegeeing that one area a little hard and a couple too many times.
