I live in houston texas and was wondering where i could get EPS and PU surfboard blanks. thankyou for any help.
Mongrel Surf Shop. I think he is in Galeston or that that other “surf town” down there that I can never remember the name of. US Blanks and Arctic both. Lowel
Do not know if any of these sell blanks:
Bryson Williams (of BJ’s Surfshop in the 60s) is said to be making custom boards (40 years) in the Houston area.
Bingo’s surfshop in Freeport/Surfside still makes custom boards.
Surfhouse surfshop has been in Houston since the 60s. Lloyd might be able to point you in the right direction.
I know nothing about Bingo other than I walked through his shaping room in May while my son and his fiancée were eating lunch across the street.
Bryson Williams was an early fixture in Houston. Have no idea how to make contact.
Lloyd is the original owner of the Surfhouse since the 60s. He may know some Houston suppliers and would be an easy phone call or visit.
An old Sways thread with some limited info:

BTW it might help if you put the word “Houston” in your thread title.

McDing,
never toyed with Artic foam. How do you like it?
Ive been wanting to test out different blank brands and densities of such brands for a while now.

Hippo - I wouldn’t recommend yellow arctic - as it seems kinda soft…you gotta be like using an angel touch w it…once glassed it seems ok though. If you try ARCTIC - try green? that said, they have nice rocker curves in um. I got the zippi fish, and mabile Frye blanks. I think the zippi is nicer.
Bingo! Now there’s a trippy hippy.

My current preferance.
Indeed.
Seemed friendly enough – gave me a personal tour of his “Surfboard Factory.” The building has definitely been around since the 60s and has seen a few tropical storms. No telling how many times I drove past that shop and never knew it was there.
Said his son has a sister surfshop in Oceanside, CA.
Hi Sivart1910-
We can provide you with whatever you need if you can’t find it locally. Let us know if we can help. We ship to Texas all the time. Best of luck!

Texas–Oceanside—Kauai. There and Back Again. Not a Hobbit though.
