Surfboards Interactive - Surfboard Design Online

Surfboards Interactive now has an animated demo available as soon as you get to the work table page. This demo quickly shows you how to use each individual tool. Design and/or trace shapes and send them to others to review. It’s free to use, and will remain free. For shapers and manufacturers wanting to participate in our charter program it is now also free to post surfboards online. Visit: www.surfboardsinteractive.com and let me know what you think. I went to the site and it was pretty cool. It reminded me of DAT. I like the flash interface on this site. I was unable to do any thing with it because the tools would not work for me. I entered in my dimensions to fool around with and it did not place the points on the grid. The freeshape tool worked all right but it was hard to visualize my dimensions with no guide points. The measurement tool did not work either (the tool with the crosshairs were you can switch from inches to feet). Am I doing something wrong. I’m guessing the site is new and they have some bugs to work out.

Did you try out the animated demo first to make sure how to work the tools? The tools have been tested, and all work well for a lot of folks so I’d like to know a few things if you can… e mail me at steven@surfboards interactive… your connection speed (28 or 56), your system (Mac or Microsoft Windows), and if you can the color level of your monitor (8, 16, or 24 bit). But please, and this goes out to all the Swaylock forum, feel free to call me after 5 EST at: 410-524-3733, and I will be glad to talk anyone through the tools to show them how this can be used as an effective shaping tool. Mike and I went over the tools on the phone and discovered that if you get similar bugs, it’s probably because you haven’t upgraded your Flash plug-in in awhile. Mike did that by clicking on the link on Surfboards Interactive’s opening page (click it to upgrade even if you do see the spinning dolphins). Now he’s got it working. Surfboards Interactive is going to feature one of his boards so look for it soon. If anyone on Swaylock’s considers themselves to be an accomplished shaper and has shaped 75 boards or more contact me to see if we can get your shape posted.>>> I went to the site and it was pretty cool.
