Surfcratf History - La Rosa???

Hey all,

Was hoping some of the old salts could shed a bit of light about this board I have named "La Rosa".

Cheers!

some info here… late 60’s Long Island I believe

Thank you for the link,  was hoping it had some east coast roots!

A shot of the fin would be nice but it looks like a late 60s longboard.  Those were often nice refined designs that were dismissed as 'relics' as the shortboard revolution took over.  A shame too because some were very nice riders.  Yours looks like one of them.

Thanks for asking about the fin Jon......that was going to be my next question.  I am guessing it had a waveset fin box but no clue since it is missing. The area is super clean and in great shape!

Definitely NOT a WAVESET. Looks almost like an early FU box, but no cross pin at the front and no place for a bolt. So, I’d say it was an inset like Yater was doing around that time. Compression fit fin and box. No hardware.

Thanks for the input Sammy.  I am one who likes to ride my "old" boards so what would you guys do.......modern fin box? compression fit? glassed?

The box was not bonded to the glass and it pulled out !

looks like your missing one of these

After Jim’s post it dawned on me that it was a ‘missing’ 1st gen FU box.

Fins Unlimited (1.0) box that came out of the board altogether.
