Surfers and the Vietnam War

Pure Frustration Productions is proud to announce a veteran’s benefit screening of their documentary film BETWEEN THE LINES.

Narrated by acclaimed writer and director JOHN MILIUS (Apocalypse Now-Big Wednesday etc.), BETWEEN THE LINES explores the Vietnam War through the prism of the surfing sub-culture. The film offers unique insight into the dramatic effect that the Vietnam War and draft had on young American men who rode waves. Hansen Surfboards in Encinitas, California will host this event.

This charitable event will benefit the Rick Thomas Veterans Counseling Center in San Diego, California.

“The themes and stories shared in this film are relevant to veterans of all wars and the American public today,” said Mr. Thomas. “I am deeply touched that the filmmakers are dedicating the proceeds of this event to aid in the recovery of veterans from the trauma of war.”

“Look, these guys are heroes,” said the films Producer, Ty Ponder. “It was a no-brainer to give back to the veterans.”

A 170 page limited edition coffee table book, also entitled, BETWEEN THE LINES, will be available at these events for 39.95.
