kerry is my vote …he has plan to bring troups back …fights should be over quickly and we all get on with our lives…
I trust him idont trust bush…interested to get the surtfers vote…I know if we get all the surfers together the fishermen and and the music industry all voting in one direction we can control the vote…
Well? Labor or Liberal, Personally I hate Johny H but Lathum is looking very icompatent with running australia, hard choice! they both suck! oh well easy for me Im not old enough to vote any way! Yaay,
My vote is for Kerry. All the war stuff goes without saying. It was a mistake. We’re putting our boys and girls in harms way for what? Monetary gain?
To bring this back to being surf-related, if you vote for Bush it means that you want to see a further rollback of every environmental protection law ever passed and that you want to surf/swim in shit and oil.
If you REALLY want to read some political posts, check out Forum.surfermag.com… “surfer discussion” forum. Seems to be the vast majority want to talk about that [???] . God knows why ?
Personally, I’d rather talk surfing and boards. That’s why I like it here… less b.s. going on.
ok well hows this…its time to pull them apart… and lets work out it … and live in harmony as a WHOLE PLANET NOT JUST BITS…/.not just bits where people are starving and the focus is on the war that needs to STOP…lets lend a hand when we can…a thought can change the WORLD…think about peace and harmony and …Lets Rock this World… is that to far out or on a leval plain?still goin 4 kerry and latham
ok here we go… SURFERS 4 WORLD POWER…are we the the only one s who sea clearly…NO the world is to AWARE…WE ARE HERE TOGETHER… HERE TOGETHER BROTHERS AND SISTERS MUMS UNCLES NEPHEWS EVERYBODY…PULL THEM APART…;KERRY HAS A PLAN TO BRING THE TROUPS …I BET THEY ARE READY TOP COME HOME…BRING EM HOME…JOBS DONE…
Ok, the moderators are playing politics…surfers and fisherpersons united to over throw the corporate whores. I guess here, like the U.S.A. command, we have selective authority on issues of importance.
I’m sure I’ll be attacked but just to prove that there is conservative thinking life in the surfer community… my vote is for Bush.
I don’t think Kerry has the judgement to finish what needs to be finished overseas (no - the job is not ‘done’ yet). Nor do I find his promises for domestic policy/economics comforting in the least.
I wish that the president was as smooth a speaker as his opponent, but in the end elocution is hollow and character counts more. Kerry’s character always seems politically motivated to me, and his views seem to change with what will garner votes. Bush is obviously not afraid to act on what he thinks is right, sometimes thats popular, sometimes not, but it is a clear indication of character. I can’t look at Kerry/Edwards and think they are nearly as capable or experienced as Bush/Cheney.
Vote Bush out if you want to, but I believe that will be a mistake in the long run.
An no… I don’t agree with everything they say… my main beef with the Bush Admin. right now is over stem-cells - they should allow the use of frozen unclaimed embryos for this research - Life is not in them yet.
As a foreigner, US politics are none of my business but as far as the world environment problems are concerned, Bush made us step 10 years backward …
Here’s an example about the global warming problem : “In terms of the CO2 issue, I will explain as clearly as I can, today and every other chance I get, that we will not do anything that harms our economy.”
"I can’t look at Kerry/Edwards and think they are nearly as capable or experienced as Bush/Cheney. "
I can’t figure out how an intelligent person can regard Bush as capable. He was an average student, a marginal businessman, rode on the coattails of his familys name into everything, was undistinguished (at best) in his “service” in the National Guard, and had plenty of detractors as Governor. What is his resume in politics? Governor? Campaign worker? That’s all? Where’s his depth of experience? Bush is arrogant, carries a f#ck-yall smirk, and is no more qualified to be president than any of the beer-drinking average-joe businessmen I used to go sailing with. I wouldn’t any of them as president.
In the vp debate last night Cheney said something like ‘George Bush’s politics are my politics’. I’ll say - isn’t Cheney the policymaker? And his remarks about the VP being a “heartbeat away” from the presidency - that coming from a guy with his heart-attack history. The absurdity of it all!
What’ll happen is there’ll be a reason to “postpone” the election for reasons of “national security.”
This must explain his assumption that he Walks On Water, a common misjudgement among standup surfers these days. Bush seems to want to get to heaven quick; Kerry seems to think he was sent here directly from there.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum…
I have a standard test I can offer up here for anyone to grade the two men based on their Vietnam War experiences…meant to inflame various cousins and brother-in-laws on both sides of this Divide…but only if someone asks for it.
For those who really can’t make up their minds, there is always the “First Daughter Criteria”…
