Surftech No Brand boards

Has anyone seen or ridden a No Brand Mini Nugget board? I was cruising around yesterday looking at boards for some inspiration and saw it at the Surftech dealer. I would rent it for a day to give it a try, but they don’t rent out that model, and they want $900 for it, so that’s out of the question. Wondering what others think about it.

I like the way it has pinched rails all the way through, and very low rocker. I also like that it isn’t a hull but a short version of an older style longboard. I was thinking about this kind of design, but so far this is the first one I’ve seen that wasn’t a long board. I’m thinking about making something similar between 6’5" and 7’.

My brother has a 10’ longboard with similar rails and it really works great. I’d like to incorporate a triplane bottom or just have a edges rolled up to pinched rails on my next medium sized board. I really like the super low nose rocker and slightly more curve and rocker in the last third of the board. It’s like a backwards rocker and I’m finding this to be the best paddling and turning combination.

Not too sure if they are still a/v new, the No Brand Basic Nugget longboard model has been discontinued.

I know what you mean about the tail rocker, unless it gets kicked too much in which case it causes drag and will make take-offs harder unless on a steep face/late drop. Makes turning easier... like most things it's often a trade-off.

These are the things that keep shapers awake at night!

The fun's in finding all this stuff out huh?

Thanks for the reply.

I like single fin boards in the 7-8 foot range for cruising instead of riding something 9’ or longer, or going to a fish. I haven’t seen many boards in this size with the combination of rocker and rails that the No Brand has. Kind of caught my attention.
