Still wondering what the amount of difference is between the intake and outlet, Tom. Did you use calipers?
About 2 or 3 mm, didn’t use calipers
roughly 15% less area in the outlet

Yeah, got it. True.

Quote:Bob Bolen has been claiming that the Turbo Tunnel speeds the board up
I say…when you’re going for an old school style, keep it old school.
Old school style includes a move called ‘stalling’. . . . no need to use a patented brake

Exactly my point! I wouldn’t use this fin, which is the reason I know little about it. A nose ride, to me, is something that longboarders do when they are so incredibly wired in their surfing that they can do things that surpass function. STYLE. Making it easier just eliminates the point. For those who would I was simply making the point that a fin which slows your board may help for noseriding, which is what I’ve seen this fin advertised for in every TT magazine ad I’ve ever seen. Not for creating speed.
If you listen to the Bob Bolen interview on Worldsurfradio.com he says that the fin speeds the board up if you ride off the tail, and that he has guys in New Zealand working on testing that aspect of the design.
I get where you are coming from though, and it’s true that the turbo tunnel has been marketed as a noseriding aid.
