Swayholics 2015- sharing the stoke

Heard around the campfire-

Lavarat- strangles eels barehanded…(because chopping their heads off does not kill them fast enough)

Everysurfer- if he became leader of the free world, would kill raccoons and feed them to the homeless  (or was it kill the homeless and feed them to the raccoons?)

Jbird-  has to occcasionally bite his wolf/dog to maintain alpha status.

Durbs- is planning on sending Kanye West into orbit in a sabotaged rocket.

Henry (the Frenchman)- throws rocks at bears.

Seems Swaylockians have some issues with animals…

As always I had a great time.  Especially Sunday morning’s surf.  Hope Keith heals quickly.

Anyone else?  Share the stoke…

Made the trip up Saturday morning for a few hours and I’m glad I did. First time at the gathering but have wanted to go since it’s inception. Put some faces to names. I’ve got the year to get my camping supplies together. Anyways, I’ve been around here for a long time, haven’t contributed a whole lot for which I apologize, but to see in person the quality of work and general stoke that exists for building and riding surfboards both humbled me and inspired me to get at it again. Thank you my friends. I may be old but I ain’t dead. Stay tuned.

Any pictures for those of us that weren’t fortunate enough to attend?

Surf wasn’t much until Sunday morning BUT AS ALWAYS, THE PEOPLE ARE WHAT MAKE THIS TRIP.

Seriously, the folks that I have met on this trip over the years have become extended family and I am really thankful for that.

On top of that, Big Sur is beautiful country and never let’s us down

Another great trip in the books. Me and Gianna had a blast!

It was great to see Resinhead and Llilibel and his family again after a few years hiatus for both of them.

Hiking down to Jade Cove with Lavarat, Llilibel, and Henry was definitely a highlight of the trip.

Sunday we got Sandollar beach in the words of Lavarat “As good as this place gets”.

Overhead glassy runners. Sunday was the day for sure.

I have some pics (none of surf) to share as soon as I go through them.

Again, wish I could have made it. You guys rock. Post a few thousand photos, please.

I’m bummed I couldn’t make it.  Was down with a gnarly cold, chills, all that shit.  Bummed.  Mike

Whatever the inflatable thing that Lavarat put me on was really fun. Belly whoomping !

Always a good trip. We had a hot beach day, a cool clear beach day and rain one night. Saw old friends and made new ones. The racoons destroyed Ray’s foam ice chest. The Pupe-EPS debate continues.

I say a racoon rides better in EPS…but the devil is in the detail trying to get them to drink epoxy.  I heard Ray uses a maple syrup additive?

Great seeing old friends, and putting new names to faces.  It’s been about 3 years since I have been on the trip. Looking at everyones homemade board…don’t look so homemade anymore… Everyone is getting good at making boards.

I wanna see some good-as-this-place-gets pics from Sunday!

Please.

I hate to beat a dead horse but some of us cyber surfers will need to see more photo documentation.   This was the second year since the infamous inception that I had to miss.   My new job had me working 11 hours on saturday.   I missed everybody and everything greatly.   Darren

We are soooooooo bummed we missed it again this year!  Unfortunately, the Sunday before was a total disaster for us. First I strained my lower back, then the Westy broke down, and last our son came down with a cold. All happened within a three hour time period.  I think the Gods were trying to tell us something.

Please keep the pictures and the stories rolling. It was really cool to see Lillibel and Chrisp’s photos.

We missed you Rooster & Srpato. Had a blast on Grant’s 5’3" Mini Simmster on the small days, But Ray was dominating on the Uli inflatable surfboard. Good times!
