Sweet spot

I had a question about the so called sweet spot. Which I’d been told is the place where you put the flat spot. My question is do you place the flat spot in the middle of the blank or do you place it between your stands? And what would be the effect? I plan on making a 6’0 fish. Any advice would be great thanks!

…man, do a hip in the outline (make dee outline in a computer program to really see the hip without distorting the outline)…you ll got a “clean” outline with a sweet point break spot…
