This is the latest forecast for SoCal from Wetsand.com. We may be a bit later in Big Sur. All in all, a decent prognosis for some fun waves! Thursday the 4th is looking like an over head South swell day as well. Much of this energy is from 175-180, but it looks like enough energy to boost size at many south facing breaks into the 1-2 foot over head zone. Friday the 5th is also looking like a fairly heavy SW swell day, at least chest to head high. Saturday the 6th we’re expecting to see the last burst of SW come through from the week long activity hitting us from the Southern Hemisphere. Look for another day of chest to head high surf with some overhead sets. Sunday the 7th is a bit of a toss up right now. Models are in disagreement on some steep angled 175 degree south swell, remnants from our swell earlier, making it through to the CA coast. Although some models are favoring a steady flow of south swell for Sunday, we’re just not seeing things shaping up that way. We’ll need to see how some of this energy fairs once it makes it past the equator in the next couple days. But for now, our call is for a decreasing trend for most south facing breaks due to the steep angle, more towards chest to shoulder high but, standouts could still expect some bigger sets. Monday the 8th we’re expecting the SW to drop off further, chest high or so on the better sets.
