Sydney Siders - Where do you get your "Rice paper"

Can anyone in Sydney (preferably cronulla/shire area) steer me in the right direction to get some rice paper for laminates?

is rice paper the same as velum paper used by draftsmen? I know where to get that!

Would like to pick some up tomorrow so I can lam my board on the weekend.

Cheers.

Im not in Sydney but I get my Acid free tissue paper from art supply shops. about 8cents per sheet and it does 2 A4 size sheets.

We have Jackson’s here in Perth but I am sure you will have a similar shop in your area.

I use Fuller artist adhesive (removeable /repositionable) spray. Available at Bunnings or from an art supply shop. Bunnings is cheaper.

I spray a piece of A4 bond paper and then put another A4 bond onto it and remove it straight away. This gets rid of excess and then I put the tissue paper onto the bond paper with a soft cloth doing my best to not have creases of bumps.

I can then put it through my ink jet printer.

I tried laser printers but the resin reacts with the ink.

If the tissue paper tears when you peel then you put to much adhesive onto the bond paper.

You only need a light spray.

Good luck.

thanks.

do you get acid free tissue paper in white to become translucent when saturated in resin? or do you need clear (like tracing paper)?

it is white (kind of white but is so thin that it looks like baking paper)  and goes transparant.

It does come as standard tissue paper but this can have a slight brown tinge to it.

The acid free is what you are after.

It is not a drafting paper like you ask.

It looks like really thin baking paper.

I have been told that packing companies use heaps of it for items that cannot have any damage .

Try this store. If they dont have it they could give you help in finding it.
